San Francisco Trip Report, by Richard Anthony

This year the National Recycling Congress (Congress) was held in San Francisco. The California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA), the host of the first (1980) and the ninth Congress (1990) has always used these events as opportunities to organize locally.

To show case reuse, recycling and composting programs in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Global Recycling Council (GRC) of the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) organized an International Dialog on Proper Discard Management on Thursday and Friday, August 26-27, 2004, in San Francisco .  To read the full text click here

A Taste of San Francisco
This year CRRA hosted a wine tasting in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Gardens. There were a dozen wineries represented, with 20 cases (240 bottles) offered. So, at 6 ounces per, we split about 1,440 servings amongst the +/- 350 attendees. Factor in the non-wine drinkers, consider the few bottles left over, and the average consumption was a commendable 4 glasses apiece. For a complete list of the wines served, click here
